Danversport Yacht Club Wedding, Massachusetts // Emmeline + Jared

Emmeline and Jared got married on the most perfect June day at Danversport Yacht Club and WOW, I don’t even know where to begin with this wedding. I just adore this couple so much. From the moment I walked in and Emmeline asking “can we hang out after this?!” to belting out Hey Soul Sister at the end of the night, this was a wedding where I truly felt like I was in the moment, rather than just being a fly on the wall. I never cry at weddings anymore, and I could not stop tearing up for this one!

Emmeline got ready at her family’s amazing home surrounded by so many little trinkets, works of art, and antiques. The vibe of a classy, beautiful wedding was already set in stone before even arriving to the venue. The house was a bustling whirlwind of activity, friends and family milled around getting ready, the excitement was as tangible as it is as a kid on Christmas morning. There’s just a certain feeling about these days that sets them apart form the others.

My favorite part of the day was the first look, and if you’re wondering if you should do one or not – DO ONE! I set Jared up by a lighthouse overlooking the harbor, and as Emmeline tapped him on the shoulder, the waterworks went off. They each read personal, intimate vows to eachother. They were able to calm some jitters before the ceremony, spend some quality alone time together on their wedding day, and free up so much time later on in the day.

The reception was an absolute PARTY. Emmeline and Jared picked out the world’s most fun people for a bridal party and every single one of them danced their heart out for the entire night. The entire night sparkled with elements of Syrian culture. The couple danced a choreographed first dance to I’ll Follow You by Shinedown (and I meltedddd). Surprises were to be found in every moment, as We Didn’t Start the Fire played for her dad for their father/daughter dance and Emmeline was then surprised by an impromptu performance by a Syrian Zaffa and Dabke Group. Even after a full day, I couldn’t stop myself from dancing.

Emmeline and Jared have such a deep, rich, and respectful love for eachother and such a kindness and welcome spirit to everyone. I am so unbelievably lucky to have gotten to know them over the past year and I hope they know just because this wedding is over, doesn’t mean they’ve seen the last of me!
