I’m Andrea, or Andie, if you prefer less syllables. My story’s a bit different from other photographers. I wasn’t born with a camera in my hand and a deep love for weddings. In fact, I had never even been to a wedding until I started photographing them! I grew up as an artist. I loved crafts, painting murals in my room, and drawing animals. It wasn’t until high school that I got my first camera. Combined with my emo angsty teenage self, I made some WEEEEEIRD SHIT with it. Somehow people saw potential in that and it wasn’t long till I was asked to document friends’ weddings.
I found that weddings are a big deal. You run around a LOT, there’s literally thousands of moments to focus on, and there’s an infinite amount of lighting situations to take into account. I never expected to love weddings. But then, suddenly I did. Weddings are my life source. I love the energy, the emotion, the adrenaline, the once-in-a-lifetime feel of the entire experience. I grew to love working with couples more than anything.
Over time, I evolved even more and developed my own style. I found that I absolutely love making couples laugh. I’m goofy and awkward as all hell and I’ve learned to harness that to create an experience for couples that makes them comfortable. I don’t believe in anything staged or fake. Weddings are a very human event and I want to encompass everything that makes humanity naturally amazing.
My couples mean the world to me. I love hearing their stories, what makes them tick, and the things that are important to them. It’s my absolute goal to capture them exactly the way they are; how they crack jokes, poke fun, dance together, hold one another. I’m there to capture the genuine tears, the donkey-laughs, how couples just fit so well together. With directive posing, I bring out real chemistry and personalities. With my speedy ninja technique, I’ll capture moments that might have gone forgotten. With my laid back vibe, I’ll ensure even the photo-heavy parts of the day are a breeze. I believe every single part of a wedding should be a blast and that every couple should be celebrated in their own unique way. Your photographer is the vendor who is with you the most on your wedding day, shouldn’t it be someone who you can consider a friend?
