Fuller Gardens Micro-Wedding in North Hampton, New Hampshire | Andrea Van Orsouw Photography

Wedding ceremony at Fuller Gardens in New Hampshire

Kaelyn and Evan didn’t want a big wedding. They wanted the people who mattered most, a setting that felt special, and a day that actually felt like them. So they planned a micro-wedding at Fuller Gardens in North Hampton, New Hampshire. 17 guests, an outdoor ceremony in the Lydia Fuller Bottomley Garden, and the whole thing wrapped up in time for golden hour portraits. Perfect.

Why Fuller Gardens

Fuller Gardens is one of those places that makes you feel like you stumbled onto something secret. Manicured rose gardens, a koi pond, ivy-covered walls, and a gorgeous historic greenhouse tucked into the New Hampshire coastline. It’s intimate without being tiny, beautiful without being too manicured and it photographs incredibly well from every angle. As a wedding photographer I don’t get up here as often as I’d like but every time I do, I’m reminded why I love it.

The Day

The weather kept us guessing all morning. Kaelyn’s mom showed up armed with umbrellas, fully prepared, but we ended up with a dreamy overcast sky for the ceremony and golden light breaking through right as we headed into portraits. The garden cooperated beautifully.

Evan’s dad officiated in front of their 17 closest family members, which gave the ceremony this warm, personal feeling that larger weddings sometimes can’t quite reach. Afterward, Kaelyn and Evan slipped away for a private vow exchange in the front garden. It was just the two of them, surrounded by flowers and quiet. Those moments are always my favorite to witness.

One detail I haven’t stopped thinking about: Kaelyn’s ring. A moss agate stone, organic and earthy and completely unexpected. It fit the whole day perfectly.

We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering through the garden; past the koi pond, through the greenhouse, into every tucked-away corner this place has to offer. Kaelyn and Evan were calm and easy and completely present, which made everything feel effortless.

Evan said it well when the gallery arrived: “Thank you so so much!! We are so excited about our photos and they came out so amazing!”

Kaelyn and Evan, it was such a joy to be there for this one.
