In October, I responded to a referral from another photographer for a micro-wedding in Avon, Connecticut. Kelsey and Mike had decided that instead of planning out a whole wedding, they would just get married ASAP!

They decided to elope on Halloween, the anniversary of a costume party they met at years ago. So cute.

With just their parents attending, they had their micro-wedding ceremony at St. Ann’s Church in Avon, Connecticut. It was the sweetest ceremony. The way Kelsey and Mike looked at each other, you could tell they felt so sure that this was exactly the way they wanted to get married.

After the ceremony, we stepped outside for some quick family photos. The trees were glowing in the late October sun. It was the most gorgeous day as we headed off to two more locations for some couples photos.

The first spot was a gorgeous overlook on Beach Rock Road. Though it was past peak fall season, the last of the leaves showed off a deep crimson red. While we hiked along the ridge, I got to know Kelsey and Mike. This couple had me doubled over laughing. They’re beyond hilarious and it was such a blast hanging out with them.

The second spot for their micro-wedding was at Saville Dam in Avon, Connecticut. This spot was breathtaking. Kelsey’s blue dress, the red doors of the dam, the blue lake, the punch of fall colors. Photographers dream come true. Here, Kelsey and Mike read personal cards to each other, cracking each other up. Afterwards, they popped open a bottle of champagne to celebrate their wedding day.

This was a day I didn’t want to end. These two were just so much fun. They were exactly the kind of clients every photographer hopes for in the midst of busy season!
