I’m definitely one of those people who checks the weather for a wedding day ten days in advance, no matter how wildly inaccurate it may be. As Claire and Adam’s wedding day crept closer and closer, so did the rainclouds. I armed myself with extra plastic bags to wrap my camera in like the professional I am and headed off to the ceremony directly under a 60% chance of rain. Honestly, I could not have asked for better weather.

Arriving at the location, the guests were gathered in the reception area, wondering what the consensus would be on where the ceremony would be located. The call from Claire came “It’s a rose garden! We’re going outside!” Best. Call. Ever.

Elizabeth Park is reminiscent of stories I read as a kid that take place in quiet, hidden gardens. The colors were to die for- with the changing leaves, the rich shades of the roses, Claire’s bouquet, and the matching bridesmaids dresses all tied together so perfectly.

I heard one guest say “if you bring an umbrella it’s bad luck for it to rain!” but let’s be real, the umbrellas provide such a unique, quirky visual detail to tell the story the dayAs Adam waited to walk up to the alter, Claire snuck by in the most gorgeous, pink-undertoned dress that matched with the garden seamlesslyOne of my most unique ceremony locations to date. So, so happy everyone decided to tough it through the rain!The ceremony was sweet and intimate, with no frills to make Claire and Adam wait even longer to be husband and wife.This grandma was so lively and full of joy for the couple. Too cute.Just absolutely loved the color of the bridesmaid dresses!Claire and Adam didn’t have a bridal party; they had a bridal army. So awesome seeing couples have so much love and support!I could’ve wandered around in the garden with these two all day.Can’t get over this bouquet. Claire told me she described what she wanted over the phone to her florist and she delivered EXACTLY what Claire had in mind.The theme of the wedding was fox/woodland themed and if this isn’t the cutest cake topper you’ve ever seen, you’re wrong.Can you believe this gorgeous reception venue tucked away in a garden in Hartford?! These windowsChoreographed first dances make me giddy. Claire and Adam nailed it.Every single guest was so full of smiles and love, making this reception such a welcoming place to be.Claire and Adam, it’s been such a joy being your photographer on your journey from engaged to married. You two share such a deep connection, the kind that is comfortable in silence and knows exactly what the other is feeling in any situation. You two are perfect together and I hope to work with you again in the future!
