I’ll admit it, I’m one of those people who checks the wedding day weather ten days in advance. For Claire & Adam’s wedding at The Pond House Café in Elizabeth Park, Hartford, the forecast was all over the place. I packed my plastic camera bags (like the seasoned pro I am) and honestly, the day turned out more perfect than I could’ve hoped.

Ceremony in the Rose Garden

When I arrived, guests were waiting inside the reception space, unsure if the ceremony would be moved indoors. Then came the call from Claire: “It’s a rose garden! We’re going outside!” Best. Call. Ever.

Elizabeth Park has this secret-garden vibe that feels straight out of a storybook. Between the fall leaves, the deep jewel tones of the roses, the bridesmaids’ dresses, and Claire’s bouquet, it all tied together so seamlessly. Even the umbrellas felt like they belonged in the story of the day.

As Adam waited at the altar, Claire slipped by in her blush-toned gown that blended perfectly with the garden. It’s still one of the most unique ceremony backdrops I’ve ever photographed.

Sweet, Simple, and Full of Heart

Their ceremony was beautifully intimate. No frills, just two people becoming husband and wife while surrounded by the people who love them most.

I’ll never forget the energy in the crowd. One of my favorite moments was photographing Claire’s grandma, who was absolutely glowing with joy. And their “bridal army” of bridesmaids? Pure color-coordinated magic.

Strolling Through the Gardens

I could’ve photographed Claire & Adam in Elizabeth Park all day. The winding rose paths, the arches, the pops of autumn color…it was made for portraits. And Claire’s bouquet? She described what she wanted to her florist over the phone, and the result was exactly what she envisioned.

Reception at The Pond House

Once the vows were sealed, guests headed into the Pond House Café reception space, tucked right into the gardens of Elizabeth Park. Those floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the park are breathtaking. Seriously, one of Hartford’s most stunning wedding venues.

Claire & Adam carried their woodland-fox theme through to the reception, complete with the cutest cake topper I’ve ever seen. Their choreographed first dance had everyone cheering, and from there the party only got bigger. Every guest was smiling, laughing, and so ready to celebrate.
