Olio Wedding in Peabody Massachusetts

Dayna & Aaron’s Rainy, Joy-Filled Wedding at The Bell Inn Tavern & Olio in Peabody, MA

Some weddings feel like one big, warm hug. Dayna and Aaron’s wedding day? It was that kind of day. These two have been together for over a decade, have built a beautiful life together with their two young sons, and brought their love to life in a way that radiated through every moment of their wedding. These two have it all but their wedding was the perfect cherry on top. All heart, all family, and all joy.

Getting Ready at the Bell Inn Tavern

Dayna and Aaron got ready alongside their families at the Bell Inn Tavern, a cozy, character-filled spot that turned out to be perfect for rainy-day portraits and quiet, meaningful moments. After their emotional first look, they had a second one: this time with their toddlers. The kids were gifted teddy bears (cue the “AWWWW”), inspired by Dayna’s own treasured childhood teddy bear, which made an appearance as well. These weren’t just cute family moments. They were core memories in the making.

Ceremony & Reception at Olio in Peabody, MA

With umbrellas cast aside and spirits high, the ceremony and reception moved to Olio, a blank canvas of a space that practically begs to be filled with color, energy, and intention. And that’s exactly what Dayna and Aaron did. Even with the rain pouring outside, Olio glowed from the inside with warmth and personality. From vibrant florals to playful table setups (including a 12″ toddler table that absolutely stole the show), every corner reflected the couple’s love and creativity. As a Massachusetts wedding photographer, Olio is one of the most creatively flexible spaces I’ve had the pleasure of working in.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Dayna and Aaron served birthday cakes for their sons. A sweet and sentimental touch to honor their little ones whose birthdays fell close to the wedding date. It’s just one more example of how selfless, intentional, and family-focused this couple is.

A Photographer’s Dream, Even in the Rain

Shooting in both the Bell Inn and Olio was a total dream. The Bell Inn gave us timeless, intimate vibes; Olio gave us space to play. The contrast between the two venues gave the gallery so much visual variety, even though we were limited to indoors. And photographing a couple who was so grounded in their love? That’s the kind of energy that makes everything shine.

Florals by Family

One of the most meaningful details of the day: Dayna’s sibling Jesse designed the florals. Jesse and their husband own Wonderland Flower Company in Chicago, and the blooms were not only beautiful, but deeply personal. That kind of detail turns a beautiful day into an unforgettable one.

What is Olio like as a wedding venue?
Olio is a blank-canvas event space in Peabody, Massachusetts: dark wood floors, exposed brick, factory-style windows, and string lights that make everything glow. It’s incredibly flexible, which means couples can bring any aesthetic to life. It photographs beautifully in both natural and artificial light.

Where is Olio located, and what’s nearby for getting ready?
Olio is in Peabody, MA, on the North Shore of Massachusetts about 20 miles north of Boston. Many couples use The Bell Inn Tavern nearby for getting ready. It has a cozy, character-filled interior that’s perfect for intimate pre-ceremony portraits and family moments.

Is Olio a good venue for family-centered or kid-friendly weddings?
It’s one of the best. The open floor plan accommodates everything from toddler tables to big dance floors, and the layout makes it easy to keep little ones involved without it feeling chaotic. Some of the most memorable moments I’ve photographed at Olio have involved kids.

What happens if it rains at an Olio wedding?
Since Olio is primarily an indoor venue, rain doesn’t affect the day much at all. The large windows and moody interior lighting actually look incredible on overcast days, and the space has tons of visual variety for portraits even without stepping outside.

Absolutely. As a New England wedding photographer based in Connecticut, I shoot throughout Massachusetts regularly, including the North Shore. Olio is a venue I’d happily return to anytime.
