Julie + Matt // Wedding
Do you ever have one of those days that just feel otherworldly, like you were in a dream or movie the whole day? That was Julie + Matt’s wedding. I felt as though I was walking around in a scene created by Shakespeare. The music preceding the ceremony, the literature-themed details, the grounds and inn of Gwyn Careg Every little moment was straight out of a fairy tale.
I’ve said it a million times since I shot this wedding and I’ll say it again – flower crowns are the prettiest things.
While I hung out with the girls inside, my second shooter stayed outside with the guys. Seems like we all had equal amounts of fun!
Every one of the flowergirls is going to be contacted by a modeling agency. I just know it.
Julie’s dress was customized from a big poofy ballgown to something that fit Julie’s tastes. I absolutely love the final result.
Matt’s tie though!
Julie and Matt’s ceremony is one that I won’t ever forget. This is the stuff that inspires poets. Everyone had the most sincere expressions as the two exchanged rings, vows, and radiated love.
Matt’s handwritten vows to Julie had everyone in tears, myself included.“Marrying you was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make because you deserve so much more than I ever could offer. But I know no one will fight harder for you than me”
TEARS AND CHILLS, PEOPLE. TEARS AND CHILLS. I hope I see these vows in a book one day.
So much thought went into these centerpieces! I love how personal and unique they were with an arrangement of classic novels and table numbers featuring quotes about love from some treasured books.
When you already have a perfect day it’s hard to imagine anything else could add to it. But plot-twist: it happened. During dinner, the one solitary cloud in the sky opened up and poured the most magical rain through the sunlight and onto the wedding. After quickly asking around for an umbrella to no avail, I asked Julie and Matt if they would tough it out for just a few seconds. As their guests cheered them on, Julie and Matt ran out together into the rain. Seriously, how beautiful was this moment?!
Once the skies cleared, we ventured out at sunset onto Gwyn Careg’s gorgeous grounds.
This was for sure one of those weddings where I was dancing with my camera held over my head.
Julie and Matt were on fire once Monster Mash came on. I’m still not convinced this wasn’t totally choreographed.
