Some weddings are just an absolute honor to be a part of, and for the entire process I'm just totally humbled and ecstatic about being chosen to do the job. I've known Courtney since we were fourteen. Just kids without a care in the world hanging out together at youth group events, sharing a love of converse shoes, and making duck faces out of Pringles on 7-hour-long van rides to mission trips. For every major event that happened to me as a teenager, Courtney was right there with me. If someone had told us back then that I would be right there capturing the moment she married the love of her life-well, I just wish so badly I could see those reactions.
Courtney has always belonged with Brett. Since the dawn of time (at least that's what it feels like), they've been a package deal. They've been ridiculously perfect for eachother and over the years, they've built a strong, unbreakable support system for eachother. I'm not sure a single person was surprised when they announced their engagement. Happy? OF COURSE. Surprised? Well, when the whole universe already knew how inseparable and solid their relationship is, it was only a matter of time before they became husband and wife.
After twenty weddings, my mind is still boggled at the 4th dimension that is wedding dresses.
This bridal party had me dying from the getting ready process with the girls to the last dance of the night. These guys were hysterical.
This might be the funniest picture I've ever taken.. One of my favorite things ever is when the unexpected happens in the middle of doing something others have done before. Do superhero groomsmen pictures exist? Definitely. Do superhero groomsmen pictures with a third of the bridal party completely unable to pull themselves together exist? Now they do.
Courtney and Brett have never been huge fans of PDA but they brought their A-game to this couples session and blew my mind at how perfectly they pulled off every pose.
At one point in the night, a slow song started. The couple who has been married the longest came up to dance together alongside Courtney and Brett. Then the couple who has been married the second longest. Then the third, and on and on until the dance floor was packed and my heart was aching at all the adorable.
Halfway through the reception, the guys revealed their true identities.
Courtney & Brett, the relationship you two share is such an example for the rest of the world and I have no doubt your marriage will be even more so. It was such an incredible honor to capture the beginning of it. I'm so happy for you guys and so excited to see whatever is in store for your future.
